General Dosage Information

Drug emits radiation and may increase a patient's risk for cancer, particularly in pediatric patients. After study completion, patients should void as soon as possible, and as often as possible for one hour.
Instruct patients to drink water or other fluids in the 4 hours preceding the positron emission tomography (PET) scan to increase the urinary clearance of fludeoxyglucose F 18 and reduce exposure to its radioactivity.
